Spotting
Fluid (Non Weighted)
Description :
In the process of drilling, the drill string becomes differentially stuck,
then there are only three options remaining to free it.
E. P. Lubricant
Description :
The frictional resistance generated by rotating the drill string against
the formation or casing may require extra torque if the hole is crooked or
directional, considerable friction resistance to raising and lowering the
drill string may also occur. Under certain conditions, such as in highly
deviated holesw, holes with different charges in direction, undergauge holes
or poor drill string dynamics, increased torque and drag entail a high risk
of lost rig time, expensive pipe recovery operations and limitations in well
developemnts. Expensive torque required to rotate the pipe generates greater
strain on the drill pipe with the danger of twist - off.
Sometimes, another problem occurs when drill pipe sticks to the wall of
bore - hole. This may be caused by running or pulling pipe into the
undergauge section of the hole, a key seat or a bridge of caving. Under
certain circumstances differential pressure sticking may also occur when the
drill pipe becomes motionless against a permiable formation and a portion of
the contact area of the pipe is isolated by the filter cake.
To overcome these difficulties, drilling fluids are treated with mud
lubricants. Mud lubricants made by Deltamike has following properties.
Chemical Composition : Based on vegetable oils, EP
additives and mobility
Specification
1. Physical State : Yellow, brown or blackish coloured liquid.
Solubility :
Completely miscible with HSD
Immiscible with water.
Density of 30+2°C : It will be in the range 0.85 -
0.95 gm/ml.
Performance Test :
A. Lubricity Test
- In fresh water mud: Prepare a bentonite suspension, using upto
7.5% (w/v) approved bentonite in distilled water by stirring with a
laboratory stirrer(5000 - 6000 rpm) for 30 min. and aging at 30+2°C for
24 hrs and restirring with the same stirrer for 15 min so that the resultant
mud has apparent viscosity in the range 15 + 1c.p. To this mud, add 0.5%
(w/v) of the material while stirring with above stirrer for 15 min and
measure lubricity coefficient tester. It will not be more than 0.15.
- In salt water mud : Prepare a 10% (w/v) bentonite suspension by
stirring with a laboratory stirrer (5000 - 6000 rpm) for 30 min and age for
24 hrs. at 30+2°C add 4% (w/v) sodium chloride (L.R. grade) and age for
24 hrs at 30+2°C . Adjust the apparent viscosity of this suspension to
15 + 1 c.p. by dilution with 4% (w/v) sodium chloride solution. Now add 0.5%
(w/v) of the material and stir for 5 min with above mentioned stirrer &
then determine the lubricity coefficient of the mud. It will not be more
than 0.20.
B. Extreme Pressure Lubrication Test :
- In fresh water mud : Prepare the bentonite suspension as in 4(A)
(i) and Similarly treat with 0.5% (w/v) of the material while stirring for
15 min. Determine its firm strength at 300 in-lb load with the help of E.P.
tester. It will be 25000 psi (minimum).
- In salt water mud : prepare the salt water mud as in 4(A) (iii)
and similarly Treat wih 0.5% (w/v) of the material while stirring for 15
min. Determine its film strength at 300 in-lb load with the help of E.P.
tester. It will be 20000 psi (minimum).
Foam Test :Prepare the fresh water bentonite suspension
as in 4(A) (i) and add 0.5% (w/v) of the material stir for 15 min at high
speed in Hamilton Beach Mixer and determine the sp. Gravity of the mud after
waiting for 1 min. It should not be less than 0.80.
Packing : The material will be packed in leak proof,
sealed, M.S.Drums strong enough to withstand rigours of transit and Storage,
capacity 200 litres per drum.
Surfactant
Description :
LIQUIDET SF is a liquid formulation based on the specifically made surface
active agents. It is designd to improve the flow properties of the drilling
fluids upto very high bottom temprature. It is a good emulsifier of oil in
fresh water and salt water. It improves oil wetting and lubrication
resulting in improvement in torque and drag.
LIQUIDET SF plays a very important role in improving the flow properties of
fluid. It gets absorbed on the surface of the clay particles. The hydrated
Sheath thus absorbed on the clay particles acts as a barrier which
drastically limits the inter - surface interaction between the clay
particles. This reduces the swelling of the clay and dispersion of shales.
Specification :
Emulsifier
Description :
LIQUIDET EMULSE is a very effective emulsifier which contains a blend of
special coupling agents. It is compatible with most well stimulations
chemicals. It finds application in well stimulation, treating tank bottoms,
salt water injection systems, cooling towercleaning, gas storage wells,
treating hydraulic lift systems, open salt water pils and cleaning
flowlines.
Specification :
Demulsifier
Description :
DEMULSE 507 is a product formulated to give maximum reduction in surface
tension & demulsification to well stimulated fluids, in addition to
aiding in prevention or destruction of damaging emulsions, DEMULSE 507
exihibits great despassing action and mud thinning property. DEMULSE 507 can
also be used in water injection or disposal system.
Specification :
